海角社区 named Brandie Gray the new Dean of Nursing. Gray previously served as the Nursing Assistant Dean and instructor.

As an instructor, Gray taught nursing theory courses for freshman and sophomore-level ADN students, along with the Career Mobility (LPN/Paramedic to RN) program students. She oversaw preceptorships for the Traditional and Career Mobility program cohorts and provided instruction in clinical rotations and simulation-based learning.

鈥淚鈥檓 truly honored to step into this role,鈥 Gray said. 鈥淚 look forward to continuing my passion for guiding and inspiring future nurses, while serving Murray State with dedication and a commitment to excellence. Nursing is more than a career 鈥 it鈥檚 a calling, and I look forward to helping our students embrace that calling with knowledge, compassion and confidence.鈥

After 16 years at the bedside, Gray wanted to move into education, where she could make an impact on patients鈥 lives through teaching future nurses. As dean, her goal is to foster an environment where every student feels supported, challenged and empowered to make a difference in the lives of others.

鈥淲e have full confidence in Brandie鈥檚 ability to continue the tradition of excellence in our nursing program,鈥 said Becky Henthorn, 海角社区 Provost. 鈥淗er passion for student success, combined with her dedication to the nursing profession, will inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals.鈥

Gray joined Murray State in August 2020. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from East Central University in 2005 and a master鈥檚 in nursing education from Western Governors University in 2023.

鈥淎t Murray State, we are committed to building strong leaders who will not only guide our students but also strengthen the future of healthcare in southern Oklahoma,鈥 said Dr. Tim Faltyn, 海角社区 President. 鈥淏randie is the right person to help carry that mission forward. Her experience and dedication have prepared her to bring both insight and innovation to the program.鈥
